IntroductionDawn Grey was born in East Chicago, IN. Miss Grey and her family moved to Humble, Texas when she was 18 months old. As the saying goes she wasn't born in Texas but she got here as quick as she could. Miss Grey graduated from Humble High School in 1998.
She began her undergraduate college experience at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton, TX. During Miss Grey's time at the University she worked with the softball team and a local elementary school through the work study program. She completed her student teaching at Salado Elementary in 1st grade and 4th grade classrooms. Miss Grey graduated December 2001 with her Bachelor's of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with a specialization in history. She became ESL certified in 2009. Miss Grey began her teaching career in January of 2002 after she took over a 5th grade general education class in Cleveland, TX. She has worked in a few other districts before finding her way to Lake Dallas ISD. Miss Grey has been with Lake Dallas since 2005. She has worked with the AMI program, and has taught 1st and 2nd grade. Many of her years teaching have been with ESL students. Miss Grey is currently a graduate student at Lamar University. She is working on her Masters in Educational Technology Leadership. She has learned a great deal as a graduate student so far. She is passionate about her students, their education, instilling a love of learning and helping them reach their full potential. In Miss Grey's free time she likes to spend time with friends and family. During the summer she volunteers at the Padre Island National Seashore with the Kemp's Ridley Sea Turtle Nesting Project. She also likes to travel when she can. |
